QUOTE: Prosecutors dropped murder charges today against a member of the Hells Angels motorcycle club, saying he may have been justified in firing the shot that killed a member of a rival club...

ABSTRACT: A shooting took place at a Hells Angels event after a fight broke out between the Angels and a rival group, the Pagan Outlaw Motorcycle Club. One member of the Angels was accused of shooting and killing a rival motorcyclist. In court today, the murder charges were dropped because the prosecution determined that the defendant might have been justified in firing his weapon (self-defense). Instead of murder, the defendant will plead guilty to a lesser charge of weapons possession.
